In Phase 1 you will learn car control. This means steering, accelerating, breaking, changing gears, clutch control etc.
Phase 2 is about car manoeuvrability, parking your car, 3 point turns etc and using this manoeuvrability in traffic situations.
During Phase 3 the traffic situations will be explained differently, so no word-for-word guidance, but explanations about how to solve situations and solving errors from other road users.
Three quarters towards your drivers license there is the option to do a mock exam. Personally I truly recommend this, it is a way to experience the practical exam itself and provides 30% higher first success rates for the actual exam.
We will go to the exam center and you will be rated by an actual examinator. A second bonus besides the experience is that you can get exemption from special manoeuvres on your practical exam.
If you succeed these on your mock exam you won't have to park, three point turn etc. on your practical exam anymore.
After the mock exam you will hear from the examinator what is still needed for you to pass your exam. This feedback we will use in phase 4 where we will work on this in exam training so we'll get you in optimal form for our goal Pass in 1 go!
A personal road map will be created in these 4 phases based on your personality to make sure you will get optimal lessons. Whether this is with pictures, text or explanations.
After the expanations you will be guided by me in the tasks at hand. The guidance will become less and your confidence will become higher.
Confidence is for me the most important, it is half in passing for your driver's license.
My guidance exists in explaining how to tackle the tasks at hand or the traffic situation. Explaining the motivation behind these actions will make you understand what you are doing instead of just doing what was told.
It is my goal to make you feel comfortable next to me and that you not feel hasted and definitely do not have the feeling that you have to perform for me. In the end I am not the one judging but there to help you get confident in driving.
This will create a nice ambiance in the car with an instructor that is completely focussed on the student.
Clearity, motivation and a sense of trust.
All of the above will be registered in a student chart, so you will know at any time where you are in your road map and what will be our next point of focus.
The exam takes up around 45 minutes, with 30-35 minutes of driving. With normal lessons of 60 minutes this is relatively short. You will notice that it is over within a blink of the eyes.
It starts of with a short talk with your assigned examinator. After this you will walk towards the car (the car you have your lessons in) and have to answer a couple of questions: couple about the car itself and one to read a license plate a bit further down the parking place to check your eye vision.
Now it is time to strap in and drive a short route on the highway and within city borders. In case you did not do a mock exam you will also get 2 special manoeuvres. Afterwards you will return to the exam center (mostly by navigational tools) and there you will get your result.
This will be explained by me, but here a short version:
